Launch Week Day 5 - Public REST API
Our most requested feature is here. A public REST API, a first look at Web Analytics, and a look back at six months in beta.
It’s the last day of Launch Week, and we are finally launching our most requested feature: the Public REST API.
We’ve been working for some time on moving all of our internal systems to our new backend to make this possible.

Important notes
-
Rate limits
We are still adjusting rate limits as we monitor whether usage is higher or lower than expected.
-
Error tracking
Error tracking data is not yet available via the REST API, but it will follow soon.
-
Version 0
The API is version
0, which means there can be breaking changes. We will do our best to inform you before making them. -
API keys
Most endpoints require an API key, which you can create in your user or organization settings.
API keys are meant to be private and should not be shared.
Six months in beta
When we started FastStats, we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Six months later, the numbers speak for themselves, and we wanted to share them before wrapping Launch Week.
Events over time
Daily event volume from launch through June 2026.
Events by country
Geographic distribution across 149 countries.
Web Analytics
It’s been a while since our last update on Web Analytics. We’ve been working hard on it, and while there’s still room for improvement, we’re finally getting ready to let a first group of people try it out.
For the past few weeks, we’ve been tracking FastStats with FastStats itself and have fixed a ton of issues along the way.
Launch features
We’re planning to launch with:
- Basic Analytics
- Client-Side Error Tracking
- Web Vitals
- Session Replays
- Feature Flags
Everything beyond Basic Analytics is completely optional and opt-in. You only enable the features you actually need.
Rollout plan
Web analytics is more involved than simple plugin analytics, so we want to take things slowly.
- Hand-pick a first group of beta users
- Onboard the first users sometime next week
- Roll out more broadly once it feels stable enough
Pricing after beta
Running analytics is expensive. Web Analytics will become a paid product after the beta, and we can’t guarantee there will be a free tier.
The revenue from Web Analytics will help subsidize the cost of Mods and Plugins Analytics, which will continue to offer free basic usage. The beta will run for at least a few more months.
Want in?
If you’re interested, let us know on our Discord server. Include:
- Whether you’re already using a web analytics solution
- Why you’d like to try ours
- Which framework you’re using, so we can make sure the SDK you need is supported
Project size doesn’t matter. Whether it’s a full web product or something as simple as docs, the only requirement is that you’re willing to report any bugs you encounter.
Thank you
And of course, a huge thank you to all of you for constantly trying things out, reporting bugs, and requesting features.
This is the most valuable support we could have asked for, and it helps us build the best possible analytics solution.
